Van D. Dexter

PASADENA, Texas — Van D. Dexter, 88, formerly of Moultrie, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas.

Martha Hilda Kent Saturday

MOULTRIE — Martha Hilda Kent Saturday, 78, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at Woodlands Living Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Michael Farmer officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. James Phillips, Chester Ellison, Jimmy Hiers, Larry Wimberly, Gary Suber and Shelly Cook will serve as casketbearers.

Born Jan. 26, 1928, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Saturday was the daughter of the late Ida Croft Kent and the late Luther Kent. She was retired from Saturday’s Clothing, a family business, and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Saturday Jr.; a son, Kenneth Michael Saturday; a brother, Eugene Kent; two sisters, Dorothy Reynolds and Lois Dalton; and two grandchildren, Suzanne Saturday and Michael Saturday.

Survivors include two sons, David Saturday and Randy Saturday and wife Carol, all of Moultrie; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Saturday Riddle and husband Lorin of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Chris Saturday and Ben Saturday, both of Valdosta, and Kimberly Saturday of Moultrie; and a great-grandchild, William Harrison of Pollock, La.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the funeral home.

The family may be contacted at the home of Randy and Carol Saturday, 1928 Magnolia Ave. in Moultrie.

Sadie Simmons Knox

HARTSFIELD — Sadie Simmons Knox, 90, of Hartsfield died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 at her residence.

Graveside rites will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 at the Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Earldene McCorvey officiating. Serving as casketbearers are Brad Knox, Doug Alligood, Mark Pearce, Randy King, Terry Clark, Glen Clark, Mark Clark and Curtis Taylor. Honorary casketbearers are the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Knox was born in Brooks County on Nov. 5, 1916 to the late R.R. Simmons and the late Pearl Whidby Simmons. She is preceded in death by her husband, D.C. Knox. She is survived by three sons, Charles Knox and wife Wanda of Doerun, Marvin Knox and wife Barbara of Hartsfield and James Knox and wife Susie of Hartsfield; three daughters Sue Tucker and husband Wanzie of Monticello, Fla., Mary Ellen King and husband Raymond of Albany and June Alligood and husband Dennis of Moultrie; a brother, Vernon Simmons of Albany; a sister, Evelyn Hall of Moultrie; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three caregivers, Sylvia Martin, Louise Tyler and Betty Manning.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Visitation will follow the graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 40, Moultrie, GA 31776.

MOULTRIE — Arthur Robinson, 47, died Thursday at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Luke Strong and Son Mortuary.
