Priorities
“Gas $2.40 + per gallon and our federal elected officials are too busy pointing figures at each party and our state officials are too busy trying to apologize for slavery. Chambliss, take the lead do something to earn you payroll would you?
The irony
“Yes Sir, only in America can one get in trouble using gas chamber to kill animals, but yet do nothing to dull pain to child during abortion procedures, People, we had better so some serious changing in America quickly.
Your critic
“Mr. Walden, I would suggest that your routine critic have the steel to confront you because obviously his problem is much deeper than your writing. People with inferiority complexes pick an issue to gnaw on. I don’t know you personally but I observe and read you enough to respect you as a professional journalist who is very good at his trade. The bone this person is picking is about other things. Maybe he or she has been arrested or flunked English.
The two sides
“Yes there are two sides to every story. On one side the hospital had to pay big fines to the federal government and to Joyce Dickerson. On the other side, a person brought problems to our attention. You don’t just pay these fines at the snap of a finger. There are a lot of legalities involved. You can bet now that this won’t happen again.
Applause
“I want to praise what’s going on at R.B. Wright School. I saw a great chapel program directed by Mrs. Kirkley. Great job.
The costs
“The CRMC board has spent a lot of money in this recent issue that will take away from the maintenance and operation of the facility. We can be glad that this matter didn’t go to trial on any front. The public would have had to pay out much more.
You know better
“Mr. Duggan do you really think someone will take responsibility and resign in the CRMC issue. You’ve been on the board. You should know better.
No admission?
“Attorney John Carlton. You said that the hospital admits to nothing...well, it wasn’t necessary. The fines speak for themselves. It would show a lot of character if you would admit it and say it won’t happen again.
More to the story
“Following Dr. Trescott’s letter about the sponge lawsuit, I asked the Observer’s editor why the medical people did not respond to the accusations of the lawsuit in the Observer’s story. The editor informed me that the hospital’s attorney and public relations department were contacted more than once and those parties decided it was best for them not to comment . He said that was their choice.
