Rant and Rave for May 7

His credentials

“To those people ranting about Jimmy Carter. Please remember he won a Nobel Peace Price. His presidency might not have been stellar, but he came into a situation that wasn’t very good either. Compare him to what we’ve had to the past eight years. A peace maker versus a war-monger."

Roadblocks

“Isn’t two roadblocks on MLK Drive kind of ridiculous. You don't have that many on Circle Road and we are paying citizens. This is beginning to look like harassment."

Mistreated

“So the Hispanics feel mistreated? What would an American feel like if he went into Mexico and tried to live off the people down there? Their bodies might not even be found."

Bush, Cheney

“Bush and Cheney get their transfusion at the Exxon-Mobile pumps proving that oil and holy water don’t mix."

In response

“So Charlie Reese is agnostic on the origin of life. That’s a good one. So was Charles Darwin. His ‘The Origin of Species’ established that evolution is a demonstrable observation in the processes of life. He made no assertion on the origin of life itself.

"His theory provided context for organizing one of the largest bodies of fact ever accumulated in support of any scientific postulate. One means of stemming that growing tide of evidence would be to abolish public education. Why give children the intellectual discipline needed to think for themselves?"
