Just hearsay
“ The person who spoke about Mexico obviously hasn't been there and is relying on hearsay. It is a poor country; however, the general population is very kind and generous to Americans.
While we peek out of our windows if someone comes to our door for help, people there are willing to take you in an offer assistance.
It's a lot like how our society was 100 years ago before we got so self-absorbed and independent.
Thanks
“Thank you, Ms. Carter, for your words about the luminary service at the Relay for Life. I, too, was distracted by the talking and movement of those around me, but I'm sure my crying distracted people too!
It is an emotional and moving ceremony, and in the future I hope people have more respect for those of us who appreciate that. (And I'll try to cry more quietly next year.)
Welcome
“Welcome to the new City Manager, Mike Scott. I hope that you and your family will love Moultrie.
Coverage
“I also think that the coverage of the kids sports is great! The YMCA and the recreaton department gets great coverage, why not the Art Center? That facility has wonderful activities as well!
Return calls
“Why is that anyone in the high school cannot return phone calls? Principal Jones tell your entire staff to do so no matter who is calling them.
There are matters that are important to people that need to be discussed. That is downright unprofessional.
School buses
“School buses should not be used for private business. I for one will be taking pictures of buses parked in places they should not be and presenting them to the proper authorities. We as tax payers should not pay for fuel and insurance for the drivers private business.
Global warming
“Some of you who talk about there is no global warming are the same people who talk about how the winters were colder and fall came earlier when you were kids, the fact that that has changed should show you that something is going on in the environment.
Your help
“We wish to thank the Moultrie Police Department, Code Enforcement and Troy O'Hearn who hand in hand have worked to revitalize our northwest neighborhood. We truly wish the nuisance abatement officer would step up his work even more and get the slumlords to court.
