Much of the Bible was written in a style that the people of ancient times could relate to. No, it’s not all meant to be taken literally. There are many parables and stories in the Bible that illustrate that man should not leave everything to God — that we should be proactive in our quality of life and our service to others via our intelligence.

“Do you suppose that God granted us wisdom and intelligence for a list of purposes. Could you believe that our pursuit of a cancer cure and other medical breakthroughs is not something we should drop just because the Bible does not literally demand that we take up these causes?
