Wind energy
“The National Renewable Energy Laboratory has been developing wind energy technology for years. Unfortunately, the technology is comparatively inefficient, inconsistent and typically presents a noise nuisance to the surrounding community.
The technology shows potential, but isn’t efficient enough to warrant building wind turbines everywhere. Perhaps some of you critics are experts in Thermodynamics and could help NREL make some headway.
Priorites
“I think space exploration and study is important to us. But right now, I think we have earthly issues that need the greatest amounts of our attention. I think our great minds at NASA should be applied to helping with developing alternate energy sources. Maybe they could handle the solar part.
Energies
“Jimmy Carter, as poor of a president as he was, signed a bill into law thirty years ago that addressed wind and solar power.
Two years later the bill was thrown out by Ronald, the Republican hero, Reagan.
Wouldn't it have been great if we had worked on alternative energy for the last 28 years?
Ironies
“Mr. Lindsey, I just read your letter. Basically you are saying that big business is out for the almighty dollar, the rest of us be damned. Well, I may tend to agree with you. But having read your pieces before, it would seem that you are a staunch Republican. And big business, for the most part, is Republican. Isn’t our system and our depths of perception full of ironies?
Busy bodies
“Can we give the little school bus busy bodies something constructive to do with their time?
Why not give them some scrapbooking supplies so they can create memory books of photos of the horrible school bus meanies stopping off at the store. Just makes me tingle thinking about it.
Rebuttal
“If those who keep picking on the school bus drivers would spend that time training their children how to sit down and be quiet and respect the instructions given them by adults. And if they themselves will learn to stop at stop signs, then the school bus drivers would be able to do the more serious job of bringing your children home safely every day. By the way, the school bus rodeo is a state requirement.
Applause
“I want to add my applause to the recent choral performance.
