Beware
“Beware of those ads on television that offer to buy your gold. My gold was valued locally at $150. But I thought I would get more via this advertisement. After a long wait and several inquires after sending my gold to these people, they sent me back $15. I told them I wanted my gold back. They said it would be back in a few days. I have not received it yet.Beware of these people.

Father time
“ Time will not be on our side if Father Time moves into the White House. Bush didn’t want to be confused by the facts and John McCain is confused by the facts. He will need to create a deparatment of research with Joe Liberman as head of that department.

Taxpayers too
“Be notified that bus drivers are taxpayers also. Drivers are aware that they are not to go way out of their way. Have a heart and leave them alone. Look for tax wastes in other ways.

Humor
“Mr. Walden you ought to be ashamed. There you go again in your May 15 column about 10-year-old Moshe dishing out humor in your efforts so the not-so-funny specialists can accuse you of being humorless in y our humor. I started clucking my tongue in paragraph two, chuckled in paragraph three, four and five and so it went. They also have accused of not serving up any knowlegeable facts. There are big hunks of folklore and useful warnings in the piece. And it wouldn't take a genius to see the humor in your humorlessness.

Terrible thing
“I heard on national radio the other day and they were talking about Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who had died. Their families couldn’t afford funerals so the government sent them to crematoriums — pet crematoriums, a dog funeral home. The government said their bodies weren’t stored together and gave some ridiculous excuse. So do their families have their sons and daughters remains or those of some pet? I think this is a terrible way to treat our dead soldiers. I want to hear more about this.

Quotes of the day
“Your quotes of the day on the editorial page seem so fitting in today’s world. Somewhere in the news each day, the quotes can be well applied. The one on May 15 from the Cree Indian prophesy is so appropriate that it’s frightening.

Not pollyanna
“If we challenge the system and the government, we are told to be ashamed — that we should be building it up. I pay taxes and support good efforts. I do not support sloppy government. I am not into pollyana.
