Dear editor:

Today the president proudly trumpeted the news that the American Medical Association had endorsed the House version of his healthcare reform package. In so doing, he implied that the majority of American physicians are in favor of this two thousand page monstrosity. Not true.

 In fact the AMA represents less than twenty percent of America' doctors and its membership is shrinking daily. The AMA represents only the most liberal faction of American physicians, and here is the real truth, Mr. President.  The AMA has been advocating socialized medicine for over twenty years, not just since the advent of your "revolution."

 I would invite all Colquitt County residents to ask their physicians what they think of the AMA.  I dropped my membership several years before I retired in 1996.
