Rant and Rave for 01/04/13

MOULTRIE — More valid

“The original reason for the second amendment - to protect us from a dictatorship or other dictatorial government - becomes more valid every year."

Gun culture

“The comparison of the United States to Canada, Great Britain ‘and the rest of Europe’ with regard to violent video games and shootings is without merit.

"Gun ownership in Europe is highly restricted and the Canadians, while enjoying the rights to private ownership, are held to rougher standards when buying weapons.

"We have a society that glorifies violence in its entertainment and a gun culture that easily feeds into it."

Thanks so much

“As a business owner and a tax payer, let me say thank you to our intelligent (?) elected state and federal officials. I got three delayed unwanted gifts 1-1-2013. My FICA withholding rate, medicare rate has increased and so will my property taxes to make up for the new law where farmers will not pay sales tax on items they purchase to make a living. Thank you ladies and gents so much."

Like the others

“Ok, Mr. Psalmond, I get that you do not like President Obama. But isn't he using Air Force One, just as the previous presidents did? Why is it a problem now?"

For the record

“Just for the record Mr. Psalmond, President Obama did not take Social Security and apply it to the general fund. That happened a long time ago. I’m not debating your sentiments, only your points of reference."

Shame on you!

“Nice articles about the UGA game and the FSU game. However, the 2012 Sun Bowl where Georgia Tech defeated USC by a score of 21 to 7 by playing their best game of the year was completely ignored! Even the LA Times had a full article about the game with kudos to the Tech team! One would think that a win over a program such as USC would at least rate a mention or an article on page 2! Tsk, tsk, shame on you!"
