MOULTRIE, Ga. – Moss Farms Diving’s Ruth Anne McCranie finished first on the 3-meter springboard on Saturday at the USA Diving Junior Region 3 Championships being held at the Moose Moss Aquatic Center.
McCranie scored a 354.85, 27.55 points ahead of second-place Kaylee Bishop of Coral Springs Diving.
The gold medal effort followed McCranie’s third-place finish on platform on Friday in the first day of the championships that will conclude today.
The event has brought together some 149 divers from the Southeast trying to advance to next month’s Zone B Championships in Ft. Lauderdale. Fla. The top 15 in each event will qualify for Zones.
Zone qualifiers will compete in the 2018 Junior National Championships, which will be held July 29-Aug. 4 in Atlanta.
McCranie’s first-place finish was the second of the championships by a Moss Farms diver.
Bo Bridges took the first gold medal for Moss Farms on Friday, winning 12-13 boys platform with a 275.25.
Bridges won a silver medal on Saturday in the 12-13 boys 3-meter event with a score of 319.55.
Carson Tyler was second in 14-15 boys 1-meter on Saturday with a 361.2.
Winning bronze medals on Saturday were Jet Geovanni, who had a 247.05 in the 12-13 boys 3-meter; Nolan Lewis, with a 338.80 in the 14-15 boys 1-meter; and Parker Hardigree, with a 458.65 in the 16-18 boys 1-meter.
Other Moss Farms divers and their finishes on Saturday were Judson Taylor, sixth, 11-and-under boys, 123.35; Jayden Bowman, eighth, 11-and-under boys, 114.90; Tuck Gregory, ninth, 11-and-under boys, 109.65; Braden Venet, 10th, 11-and-under boys, 105.70; James Kirbo, fifth, 12-13 boys 3-meter, 223.85; Timothy Fagan, fifth, 14-15 boys 1-meter, 297.75; Abigale White, eighth, 14-15 girls platform, 225.15; Mauri Leroux, 10th, 14-15 girls platform, 195.65; Hunter Kebler, 19th, 16-18 boys 1-meter, 282.20; Anabelle Brooks, ninth, 11-and-under girls, 1-meter, 143.45; Lyla Horne, 12th, 11-and-under girls, 1-meter, 137.55; Maggie Strange, 13th, 11-and-under girls 1-meter, 130.40; Kendall Deloach, 14th, 11-and-under girls 1-meter, 120.70; Shannon Icard, 10th, 12-13 girls 3-meter, 238.70; and Marlie Daniels, 14th, 12-13 girls 3-meter, 210.55.
Carson Tyler won the silver medal on Friday with his runner-up finish in the 14-15 boys 3-meter event with a 407.20.
Nolan Lewis was third with a 366.60 and Timothy Fagan was fifth, 322.20.
Three Diving Tigers turned in third-place finishes on Friday.
Parker Hardigree earned a bronze medal with his 498.05 score in the 16-18 boys 3-meter event.
Teammate Shannon Icard was seventh with a 160.05 in 12-13 girls platform.
Emily Ann Wolfson also turned in a third-place finish in the 16-18 girls 1-meter event with a score of 380.25. Jet Geovanni was third in 12-13 boys platform with a 217.95.
Also diving for Moss Farms on Friday was Anabelle Brooks, fifth, 11-and-under girls; Maggie Strange, 12th, 11-and-under girls; Mauri Leroux, fifth, 14-15 girls; Abigale White, seventh, 14-15 girls; Mackenzie Smith, 24th, 14-15 girls; Isabella Grayson, 36th, 16-18 girls; Jayden Bowman, eighth, 11-and-under boys; and Hunter Kebler, 18th, 16-18 boys.
Diving will begin at 9 this morning.
