Ex-Moss Farms diver to meet in Tennessee meet
MOULTRIE — Four former Colquitt County High and Moss Farms divers, representing three Southeastern Conference schools, will be competing over the next three days in the Tennessee Diving Invitational.
Ryan Helms of Tennessee, Anna Aguero of Auburn and Hannah Moore and Owen Blank of Georgia will be among the more than 100 divers competing at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in Knoxville.
The meet will include 17 schools, including six from the SEC.
Joining Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia are Alabama, Florida, LSU from the SEC.
Also competing will be teams from Carnegie Mellon, Clemson, Drexel, Louisville, Navy, Nebraska, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Rider and SMU.
The competition format is similar to the NCAA Zone Qualifying meet that will be held at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in March.
Helms, the four-time Georgia high school champion, Aguero and Blank are freshmen. Moore is a sophomore.
The meet opens today with men’s 1-meter and women’s 3-meter prelims at noon.
The men’s 1-meter and women’s 3-meter finals will follow the prelims.
On Sunday, the men’s 3-meter and women’s 1-meter prelims will be held at noon with the finals in those events to follow.
The men’s and women’s platform diving final will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
