Middle school wrestlers run record to 12-0



MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County middle school wrestling team ran its record to 12-0 on Thursday by defeating Lowndes and Tift County in Tifton.

The middle school Packers won both meets handily, defeating Lowndes 41-23 and Tift County 65-6.

In the victory over Lowndes, the Packers notched five pins, two decision and a major decision.

Anderson Glenn, Charlie Zeanah, Ikeem Blakely, Quan Wil-liams and Travis Register each won by a pin.

Kiarron Hendry and Shawn Highsmith won by decision and Hart Sumner took a major decision.

Against Tift County, the middle school Packers got pins from Glenn, Zeanah, Blakely, Williams, Register, Hendry, Johnny Ward, Austin Hunnicutt, John Gray and Dalton Dillon.

Hudson May added a major decision.

The Packers will be off until Saturday, Jan. 17, when they travel to Leesburg for the Trojan Invitational.

Colquitt has one other match, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22, at Thomas County Central, before the Jan. 24 South Georgia Athletic Conference tournament at Hahira.
