Soccer teams drop two at Houston County

The Colquitt County boys have yet to find the net after two games.

The Packers dropped their opener 1-0 to Coffee on Feb. 10 and could not get one past the Bears keeper on any of their four shots on goal on Friday.

“On our four shots, we only had one or two really good chances,” Packers coach Rob Craft said.

Houston scored a goal with six minutes left in the first half an added another halfway through the second half off a corner kick.

“Their first goal came after a miscommunication in the back,” Craft said. “And like good teams are supposed to do, they buried it.”

Craft is obviously concerned with the lack of offense.

“We go to Lowndes on Tuesday and we’ve got to find some goals,” Craft said. “We’ve got to be efficient with what we get.

“We need to take some shots and put them on frame. Maybe once we get one, they’ll start coming in a domino effect.”

After traveling to Lowndes on Tuesday, Colquitt County will go on the road again on Saturday, Feb. 28, to meet Warner Robins.
