MOULTRIE — The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department will begin its summer tennis program by offering lessons on May 27.
The instructor again will be Lynda Moseley.
Youth lessons consist of three two-week sessions of instruction. The first session will run from May 27 through June 6.
The second session will run from June 9 through June 20. The third session will run from June 23 through July 3.
Times for the sessions are 8:30-9 a.m. for 4-7 year-old beginners; 9-10 a.m. for 8-12 beginners; 10-11 a.m. for 12-and-under intermediates and advanced; 11 a.m.-noon for 13 and older intermediates and advanced; 6-7 p.m. for 13 and older beginners.
The recreation department charges $25 for the lessons, except for the 8:30 a.m. class, which is $15.
Lessons include use of rackets and balls.
The summer program also includes tournaments.
The youth are scheduled for four tournaments, including the Georgia Games Tournament on June 14 in Moultrie.
The Georgia Recreation and Parks Association District III tournament will be held June 27-28 in Moultrie.
The annual City Tournament will be held July 8-12 in Moultrie and the GRPA state tournament will be held July 18-19 in Moultrie.
The adult classes are two three-week sessions meeting on Mondays and Thursdays from 7-8 p.m.
These classes are for beginners and intermediates.
The first session is June 2-19. The second session in June 23-July 10.
All classes are held at the Jim Buck Goff Recreation Complex.
