MOULTRIE — Colquitt County’s Clarke Hendrick shot a three-round score of 215 to finished tied for ninth in the 15-18 age group at the Press Thornton Future Masters, which concluded Saturday at Dothan Country Club.
The former Packer and future Valdosta State University golfer opened with a 75 before shooting a pair of even-par 70s.
The 15-18 boys age group drew 222 golfers.
Stewart Jolly of Birmingham, Ala., won the Future Masters trophy in a three-hole playoff against Brett Patterson of McMinnville, Tenn. Both Patterson and Jolly turned in scores of 208, 2-under par.
With his playoff victory, Jolly, 17, becomes the 60th winner of the Future Masters, which started in 1950.
Also tied at 215 were Michael Ulmer of Fairhope, Ala.; Casey O’Toole of Oneonta, Ala.; Ryan Ennis of Benton, Ark.; and Trey Mullinax of Mt. Olive, Ala.
Hendrick played on the Colquitt County High golf team for four years and was a member of the school’s 2006 Class AAAAA state champion. He also was a member of the team that finished fourth in the state tournament this year.
