Ramsey Pidcock opens Saturday

MOULTRIE — Half of defending championship team and both members of the 2008 runner-up are in the field for the 55th Ramsey Pidcock Invitational that will run this weekend at Sunset Country Club.

The tournament has 111 twosomes in eight flights that will be teeing off on Saturday and Sunday.

“The course is in real good shape,” said Sunset Country Club pro Bob Windom. “The greens look real good.

“We ought to have some good scores.”

The team of Darin Bentz and Marcus Beck, representing Tallahassee’s Capital City Country Club, won last year’s event with a two-day score of 128.

But Bentz, a former Sunset member, is unable to play this year. Beck will team up with Mike Grant in hopes of taking a second-straight title back to Tallahassee.
