Eighth-grade split pair with Lowndes

Lowndes scored just four points in the third quarter, but exploded for 19 in the fourth to drop the Packers to 2-2.

Colquitt scored 13 points in the third quarter, but just four in game’s final six minutes.

The Vikings took the lead at 37-35 on a 3-pointer by Justin Williams with 47 seconds remaining and added a free throw and a basket in the final 26 seconds.

Octavius Jackson led the Packers in scoring with eight points and in rebounding with 11.

Tymetrius Lowery and Nigel Spencer each had seven points, Deonte Johnson had five, John Peterson had four and Nate Madison and Carlos Johnson each scored a basket.

Williams led all scorers with 15 points.

The Colquitt County eighth-grade Packers will go out on the road for the first time this season on Monday when they travel to Tift County.
