Three Colquitt County senior football players have been named to the Georgia Sportswriters Association Class AAAAAA All-State team.
Wide receiver Bobby Hill, offensive tackle Octavius Jackson and linebacker John Gray were included on the Class AAAAAA second team.
Hill, who has committed to Ole Miss, caught 84 passes for 1,115 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Both of those numbers rank No. 2 on the Packers single-season record list.
The 6-foot, 170-pounder also completed his career as Colquitt County’s all-time leading receiver with 121 receptions for 1,706 yards. He caught 15 career scoring passes.
Jackson has committed to the University of Florida. He is a two-year starter at left tackle after starting a defensive tackle as a sophomore.
Gray, a three-year starter at middle linebacker, led the Packers in tackles with 154.
During their three years with the Packers varsity, the trio played in 43 out of maximum possible 45 games.
They played in the state championship game as sophomores and reached the state semifinals each of the last two years.
Gainesville quarterback Deshaun Watson was named the All-Classification Player of the Year.
Colquitt County players and fans are familiar with those who won the top three Class AAAAAA honors.
Norcross running back Alvin Kamara was named the Offensive Player of the Year and Lovejoy linebacker Nathaniel Norwood was selected at the Defensive Player of the Year.
Keith Maloof of state champion Norcross was named the Coach of the Year.
During the season, Colquitt County played against 30 players who were named to All-State teams in Classes AAAAAA, AAAAA and AAA.
