Storm causes rainouts

MOULTRIE —  Rain that rolled through Colquitt County has led to five athletic events being rained out on Monday and five more being called off today.

Rained out on Monday were middle school girls and boys soccer matches against Thomas County Central scheduled to be played in Thomasville; and eighth-grade baseball game against Coffee set to be played at Packer Park; and junior varsity boys and girls soccer matches against Tift County, also scheduled for Packer Park.

The junior varsity soccer games have been rescheduled and will be played played at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Packer Park.

Washed out today are the seventh-grade baseball game against Coffee at Packer Park; the boys and girls varsity tennis matches against Coffee  scheduled for Packer Park; the ninth-grade and junior varsity baseball games against Lawton Chiles High at Packer Park; and the rifle match against Worth County schedule to be held in Sylvester.

The rifle match was moved to Wednesday.

As of Monday afternoon, there was no report of if or when the other events will be made up.

  • Kaitlyn Mitchell wins gold, silver medals at state swim meet

     Kaitlyn Mitchell of the Moultrie Sharks Swim Team won gold and silver medals in the GRPA State Class B/C Swim Meet held Friday and Saturday at the Baldwin Drive Aquatic Center in Tifton.
