Library offers summer programs

The Moultrie Observer

MOULTRIE — The Moultrie Colquitt County Library hosted an “American Girl” program with funds from a United Way grant called “Teens Taking Charge.”

Local teens that were involved in the Teen Leadership course selected the program to receive the grant.

“American Girl” was held over a six-week time period and was based on the popular “American Girl” book series.

The girls enjoyed getting to know each other through activities such as sewing, historical games, crafts, and basic cooking.

The grant enabled the library to purchase resources that will allow the program to continue periodically throughout the years.

Coming up this summer are Fizz Boom Pop: Science Show at 6 p.m., on June 3; The Magic of Science at 10 a.m., on June 5; The Circus King at 6 p.m., on June 10; The Ken Scott Show at 10:30 a.m., on June 12; Sea Mobile from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on June 13; Bugs vs. Machines at 6 p.m., on June 17; Pete the Cat at 10 a.m., on June 19; and Edible Science at 3 p.m., on June 24.
