MOULTRIE — Alice Weeks Gay Magruder, 88, of Moultrie, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Woodlands Living Center.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Midway Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Chad Gay, Brian Gay, Eric Stripling, Anthony Sharp, Keith Gay, Stacey Gay, Lamar Brooks and Mike Folsom.
Born May 7, 1921, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Dave Bart Weeks and Emma Greer Weeks. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a member of Midway Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Everett Gay; her second husband, William Marvin Magruder; one son, Dean Gay; three brothers, Marvin Weeks, Julian Weeks and W.C. Weeks; and one sister, Vera Griffin.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Gay and wife Margaret, Darrell Gay and wife Linda and Levoyde Gay, all of Moultrie; one daughter, Jane Spells and husband Steven of Moultrie; one sister, Nona Mae Sloan of Moultrie; 15 grandchildren, Kathy Brooks, Allison Folsom, Terry Brown, Tyler Brown, Brian Gay, Stacey Gay, Monica Prestridge, Donya Tucker, Anthony Sharpe, Eric Stripling, Kerri Bullard, Terri Spells, Stacie Petty, Chad Gay and Keith Gay; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
