THOMASTON, Ga. — Arrie Mae Tillman Chafin, 96, of Thomaston, Ga., formerly of Moultrie, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at China Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Tillman officiating. Burial will follow in China Grove Cemetery with Jeff Lunceford, Shawn Lunceford, Jason Tillman, Billy Keith, Scott Keith, and Ralph Hall Jr. serving as pallbearers.

Born Oct. 2, 1911, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Augustus H. Tillman and Mary Ellen Flowers Tillman. She was retired from Gold Kist and was a member of China Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester A. Chafin; a son, W.L. Tillman; three brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include a daughter, Willie Mae Tillman Alton of Thomaston, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jeffery Alton and wife Angie of Thomaston, Ga., and Karen A. Johnson and husband Jimmy of Gray, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Whitney Alton, Haley Alton, and Kaley Johnson; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Katie Johnson and Jay Johnson.

Visitation will be today, Aug. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.
