MOULTRIE — A Moultrie man reported he was robbed at gunpoint as he walked with another man Monday night.

A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to the intersection of 28th Avenue Northwest and Sylvester Drive at 11:21 p.m. Monday about an armed robbery. The deputy met with Jose Mendez, who stated he and another man were walking on Sylvester Drive, near the East Bethel Avenue intersection, when they were approached by two black men on bicycles.

The two men on bicycles then pulled out pistols, pointed them at Mendez and demanded money from both men. Mendez gave the men $200 cash, but the other man did not have any money on him at the time. The robbers then fled the scene on the bicycles and were last seen heading toward Serena Drive.

The deputy was unable to get additional information from Mendez because of a language barrier.
