MOULTRIE — Curtis William Hopper, 56, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at his home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Hancock and the Rev. Stephan Massey officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Mike Cannon, Jim Turner, Scottie Ansley, Chris Hamilton, Wesley Clayton, Timmy Hopper, Tony Edwards, Tim Burnham and Gary Burnham. Honorary casketbearers will be Rusty Reed and Franklin Clayton.

Born July 15, 1953, in Bibb County, he was the son of the late Columbus Washington “C.W.” Hopper and Linnie Pearl Burnham Hopper. He was associated with Green-Gregory Funeral Home in the 1960s and ’70s and more recently was an announcer with radio station WMTM, known as “Bill Trawick.”

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Clayton Hopper of Moultrie; seven daughters, Klarice Hopper, B.J. Wright and husband Billy Joe, Karen Ansley and husband Scottie, Stephanie McMurphy, Angel Casteel and fiancée Chris Hamilton, all of Norman Park, Melissa Watts of Moultrie and Angie Gay and husband Bobby of Norman Park; two brothers, Talmadge Hopper and wife Michelle of Norman Park and Robert Foster and wife Melody of Eastman, Ga.; one sister, Barbara Foster Allen of Eastman, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, Abi Wright, Gracie Wright, Jordan Ansley, Derrick Hopper, A.C. McMurphy, Dexter Hopper, Skylar Hopper, David Ansley, Raven Hamilton, Russell Wright, Whitney Wright, Adriana Gay and Kelsey Gay; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 17, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
