Submitted Photo The Conservation Community Service Program of the Moultrie Junior Woman’s Club has chosen Harveys Supermarket of Moultrie as their Gold Leaf Recipient for November/December 2011. The club looks for local businesses that are supporting and improving the community by making ‘greener’ choices, as well as, providing opportunities for their consumers. Harveys was chosen for the following reasons: All in-house waste such as plastic and cardboard is prepared for recycling and sent back to distribution; Harveys actively works every day to minimize plastic bag usage through the use of paper bags and better bagging techniques; Harveys also encourages customers to purchase reusable bags; Harveys encourages patients to bring old prescription bottles to be recycled in the recycle bin; and the store recycles paper products. From the left are Lauryn Niday; Jeremiah Ooten, store manager; Troy McCorkle, pharmacy manager; and Becky Reagan
