A Valentine theme was the focus of the Jolly Elders meeting Saturday, Feb. 5, at New Elm Baptist Church.

The tables were covered with red and white cloths with Valentine motif and centered with an arrangement of red roses interspersed with cupids and red hearts.

Red hearts also adorned lattice panels, forming a background for the tables.

Paul and Carolyn Voyles were crowned Valentine King and Queen and were presented a gift as a memento of the occasion.

Rita Lewis delivered the devotional using the scripture text taken from I Corinthians 13, recognized as the “love chapter.”

Entertainment was provided by Susan Hagin who sang “He Grew the Tree.”

The youth of New Elm Baptist Church were honored and recognized as guests of the senior adults.

The youth present were Henry Hagin, Charlie Martin, Scott Tucker, Haley Hagin, Hunter Copeland, Jennifer Martin, Jonah Hagin and youth leaders, Sherry Strickland and Susan Hagin.

The Jolly Elders welcomed Betty Cooper and Charlie Allen as new members.

Buddy Croy was winner of the door prize.
