Robert Edward Verberkmoes, 73, of Moultrie died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, March 29, at St. John’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. William N. McQueen III, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Garden at St. John’s.
Born Aug. 4, 1937, in Elkart, Ind., Mr. Verberkmoes was the son of the late Charles R. Verberkmoes and Loreen Marks Verberkmoes. He was retired from Destiny and Oakwood Mobile Homes, and was employed by Winn- Dixie.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Verberkmoes.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Verberkmoes of Moultrie; five children, Pamela Verberkmoes of Grand Rapids, Mich., Randal Verberkmoes of Elkart, Ind., Tammy Taylor of Albany, Stephen Marquardt of Cadillac, Mich., and Shelice Marquardt of Ann Arbor, Mich.; four grandchildren, Amanda Bridges of Moultrie and Annette Marquardt, Nicholas Marquardt and Jennifer Marquardt, all of Grand Rapids Mich.; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann “Pat” Fitzsimons of Cassopolis, Mich., and Linda Verberkmoes of South Bend, Ind.; special niece and nephew, Michelle “Kevin” Wing and family, and Jon Paul Clark and family of Cadillac Mich.; and special friends Frankie and Priscilla Hodnett of Moultrie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb Funeral Chapel.
