Wallace Otis Wilson Sr., 70, of Tifton died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Chad Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Hunter Wilson, Wade Wilson, Mark Hamilton, Ray Wilson, Chet Rogers, Andrew Young, Daryl Williamson, Luis Freitas and Rayford Hardy will serve as pallbearers.
Born Oct. 13, 1939, in Brookfield, Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Hobert Monroe Wilson and the late Hattie Yates Wilson. He had lived in Tifton most of his life, was of the Baptist faith and was a retired sheet metal worker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Latrell Wilson; a son, Michael Wilson; a sister, Emogene Burdette; and three brothers, Emerson Wilson, Bobby Wilson and Raymond Wilson.
Survivors include two sons, Rusty Wilson and Chet Howell, both of Tifton; two daughters, Tequilla W. Little of Chula and Katryna W. Fussell and husband Leon of Bush, La.; three daughters-in-law, Shari Wilson and Cheryl Young, both of Tifton, and Jonnie Mae Wilson of St. Cloud, Fla.; his sisters, Virginia Beasley and Laverne Willis, both of Tifton, Doris Casey of Ty Ty, Mary Williams and husband Billy of Moultrie and Carolyn Bates and husband Phillip of Sasser; a brother, Donald Wilson and wife Hazel of Cool Springs; three sisters-in-law, Dot Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson and Jennifer Wilson, all of Tifton; a brother-in-law, Henry Burdette of Ty Ty; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the Chapel of Albritton-Beaumont in Tifton.
