MOULTRIE — Wynona Wells Spurlock, 84, of Moultrie, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, June 18, at Funston Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Shiver officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Ashley Spurlock, Tal Walker, Chap Jackson, Jason Wilkes, Ryan Sparkman, Eddie Stephan and John Watson. Honorary casketbearers will be members of the Mary Whitfield Sunday School Class of Funston Baptist Church.

Born May 28, 1925, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late George Thomas Wells and Ethel Duke Wells. She was a retired seamstress with Riverside Manufacturing and was a member of Funston Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Baker Spurlock; her daughter, Gloria Barnwell; her brothers, Edward Wells and Raymond Wells; and her sister, Louise Giles.

Surviving are two sons, Sam Spurlock and wife Pamela and Kelvin Spurlock and wife Donna, all of Moultrie; son-in-law, Kenneth Barnwellof Moultrie; two brothers, Bennett Wells of Guntersville, Ala. and George Wells of Douglas, Ga.; three sisters, Shirley Crosby of Moultrie, Lucille Norman of Orlando, Fla. and Elizabeth Hay of Winter Haven, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Ashley Spurlock, Heather Joiner, DeAnna Watson, Jennifer Barnwell, Keri Wilkes, Kaci Sparkman and Katie Stephan; eleven great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
