DETROIT (AP) -- Detroit police have arrested the mother of a boy and girl whose bodies were found in a freezer in the family's home.
Police say court officers found the children's bodies in a freezer Tuesday while carrying out an eviction order for the home in the apartment complex. An autopsy will determine how they died.
The department initially said a woman's body was in the freezer, but later said it was actually the bodies of two children in a plastic bag.
Police Chief James Craig says the boy was about 11 and the girl was 14. The children's mother was arrested later Tuesday. Her name has not been released.
Two of the woman's other children, ages 11 and 17, were found at a neighbor's home and placed in protective custody.
