MOULTRIE – Be it on offense or defense, the Colquitt County High Packers had their way with the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors of Jacksonville, winning 45-6 on Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium.
Colquitt and head coach Justin Rogers will take a 6-1 overall record into the start of Region 1-7A play next Friday at Camden County.
Senior quarterback Jaycee Harden finished 16-for-24 passing for 263 yards and two touchdowns, both caught by the all-purpose threat of the Packers, Montavious Ponder.
Senior running back Daijun Edwards scored two rushing 1-yard touchdowns. In all, he's carried 13 times for 61 yards and caught three passes for 63 yards, all in the first half.
Trinity Christian opened the game gaining 50 yards in its first series. For the remainder of the half, the visitors netted seven yards and gained no first downs amid all kind of issues in special teams and throwing the football.
The first quarter ended with just one scoring play, one of Edwards' touchdown runs, and a 7-0 score in favor of the Packers. But in the second period, each Colquitt possession ended as such

While Omarian Daniels made the big play to end Trinity Christian's opening drive, Callon Kubiak, Ty'Li Lewis, Ty French, Zy Brockington and Antonio Spradley shut things down the rest of the half. Spradley in fact scored the final touchdown with a 30-yard interception return with eight seconds remaining in the half.
The clock ran throughout the second half with the Packers taking the 38-0 lead into the break. The first-team defense still maintained the shutout in the third period despite Trinity Christian doubling its first-down total. LaQuavion Haynes sacked quarterback Jacory Jordan.
Pershaun Fann, in the fourth quarter, picked up a fumble and returned it 10 yards for Colquitt's only scoring play. Emmanuel Perez added the PAT.
Fernando Porter denied the full shutout, however, giving the Conquerors a long touchdown run at 1:08 remaining.
