Walsh graduates from Berry College

MOULTRIE — Berry College has announced that Connor Walsh of Moultrie has earned a BS in Biochemistry.

Featured speaker Lee Walburn is an award-winning former editor and writer for Atlanta Magazine and the Atlanta Journal Constitution and a contributor to the Rome News-Tribune in Rome, Ga.

Berry College is an independent, coeducational college recognized nationally for the quality and value of its educational experience. College leaders from across the country chose Berry College as the nation's No. 1 "Up-And-Coming" liberal arts college, according to the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings.

Cobb graduates from basic training

MOULTRIE — Air Force Airman Trevor M. Cobb graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Cobb is the son of Tracy L. Cobb of Moultrie and Stephanie A. Delong of Cartersville. He graduated in 2013 from Colquitt County High School.

Davis graduates from basic training

He is a 2013 graduate of Colquitt County High School, Moultrie.

Hana Kudela Recognized   at Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS —  Young Harris College has announced that senior biology major Hana Elyce Kudela of Moultrie was recently recognized for being selected for Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges at the 2015 Honors Ceremony held in Glenn Auditorium on the YHC campus.

Students selected for Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges must meet the following qualifications at the end of the fall semester: students must have earned a minimum of 90-plus hours, have a minimum academic average of 3.5, never have been on conduct probation and must show evidence of good citizenship, participation, and leadership in academic and extracurricular activities as well as general promise of future usefulness to society.

Murphy, Walsh named to Berry College Dean’s List

MOULTRIE — Matthew Murphy and Connor Walsh, both of Moultrie, have been named to Berry College's spring 2015 Dean's List, according to Provost Kathy Richardson.

The Dean's List honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.
