MOULTRIE -- A 79-year-old woman was injured in an accident Friday morning as she drove on West Boulevard.
Louise Lairsey was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center for injuries she suffered in the accident at 9:21 a.m. Friday, Moultrie police reports said. She was transferred to John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, and an Archbold spokesperson said she was listed in stable condition Monday afternoon.
Police reports said Lairsey was driving her Dodge Grand Caravan in the southbound lane of West Boulevard when a Chevrolet C1500, driven by Patrick Burch of 714 Shingler Road in Donaldsonville, ran through the red light at the intersection of West Boulevard and West Central Avenue and struck her vehicle.
Lairsey was knocked into the westbound lane of West Central Avenue from the impact, reports said.
Police said Burch was cited for running a red light.
