LENOX — The Bank of Lenox has changed its name to The Trust Bank, a move effective Nov. 20, 2009. The name change reflects new ownership of the bank and defines, according to Benjamin Lindsey, chairman of the board of The Trust Bank, “a name which better fits our footprint in South Georgia and what our customers and communities can expect from us.”

Lindsey explained that ownership changed hands on Aug. 27, 2009, and over the course of the subsequent months the new name and logo were developed.

“The foundation of this institution is and will continue to be the trust of those who grace our doorway,” Lindsey said. “Our fiscal integrity is not negotiable as we grow in our markets and introduce new customers to our brand of banking.”

In large part, Lindsey said, the change of name to The Trust Bank was a change of name only, as the bank largely maintained its personnel in each location and customers could continue to bank as they had become accustomed. The website address for the bank has been changed to www.thetrustbank.net for customers’ online banking access and for those who wish to gain information about the products and services offered by the bank.

In its Moultrie Office, Linda Cook serves as vice president. Among the popular services The Trust Bank provides are 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages, a product she noted “is an excellent home loan option for those who are interested in purchasing a home or in refinancing an existing loan. Today’s mortgage rates are among the most attractive in many years, making this an opportune time for homeowners or would-be homeowners to talk with us.”

“Bank of Lenox operated for more than a century,” Lindsey said. “We have embraced their long legacy and tenure and given the bank not only a new name but a new nature; one which will allow us to better serve families, farmers and business owners throughout the areas we serve.”

The Trust Bank maintains locations in Lenox, Adel and Moultrie.
