Dear editor:

Last week I found a large, beautiful hawk just south of Norman Park. The bird had been shot by some ignorant moron.

The hawk had a hole through its side and its right wing was shattered.

I took it to the authorities who can look after injured animals. Later I found the bird didn’t make it.

I guess that idiot shooter will feel satisfied if he reads this and knows that his shot was fatal. What a shame!

I hope that the shooter’s household becomes so overcome by rats and mice that he can’t go into his yard without stepping on one.

These birds of prey are so more valuable in controlling rodent population than most people can imaggine. Maybe when the shooter wants to shoot something again, he can find somebody just as ignorant and they can shoot at each other.
