MOULTRIE — A burglary at a ginning operation netted a thief batteries and electrical equipment worth $14,000, with much of the stolen property recovered the following day and one suspect in jail.
Doerun Gin Co., 6522 Hwy. 133 N., Doerun, reported Tuesday the theft of 12 vehicle batteries and nine electric motors.
Stolen property was recovered at a Moultrie recycling business, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Inv. Shawn Bostick said.Information on the person arrested in the case was not immediately available.
In another burglary, Chasity Norwood reported the theft of several bottles of prescription medication valued at $100 from her residence in the 100 block of Stiner Road.
• Bobby Tyrone Edwards, 35, 217 Welch St., Pelham, was charged Wednesday with possession of marijuana and tag light illumination required.
• Curtis Tarver, 46, 1221 Elliot Brown St. Apt. 1, was charged Wednesday with possession of a controlled substance.
• Kathy Grace Martin, 55, 651 Newsome Road.
• Geneva Brown, 29, Moultrie, reported Tuesday the theft of wallet and contents, with a total value of $584, from a 2004 Honda Accord parked in the 800 block of First Avenue Southeast.
Brown told police that she left the wallet in the unlocked car while she went inside a building.
