MOULTRIE -- A Moultrie business reported Monday a former employee had been overcharging customers and keeping the money for himself.

Tod Barker reported the incident to police after finding the changes made by the former employee at Rich Oil Company on First Street Northeast. The charges were changed on two occasions, May 4 and May 12, and totaled $300.

Reports said the former employee first changed a charge ticket from Gay Trucking on May 4. The original bill was for $200, but the employee changed it to $300. On May 12, a bill for Don Wedd Trucking was altered from $177 to $377.

Both tickets were changed after the customers left the business, reports said. The former employee then kept the differences for himself.
