MOULTRIE — Thieves struck at automobiles Thursday in Moultrie. In one incident, the car itself was taken, and in the other two the thief entered a vehicle to steal items from inside it.

Those who reported being the victims of the thefts were:

• Spencer Clayton reported an unknown person stole his wallet, a Motorola cell phone and his driver’s license from his unlocked Chevrolet Monte Carlo while it was parked at the Moss Farms Diving Well Thursday. The total value of the stolen items was $147.

• Geraldine McNeil, of Sixth Street Northwest, reported an unknown person stole her Daewoo coupe from her driveway between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The value of the stolen vehicle was unknown at the time of report.

• Deonte Thornton reported an unknown person stole a Gear to Gear portable DVD system and three CD pouches full of CDs from his Mercury Grand Marquis while it was parked at a residence on Eighth Avenue Southeast between 3:31 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday. The total value of the stolen items was approximately $750.


• Xavier Demond Nickerson, 18, of Moultrie, was charged Friday with trespassing.

• Deborah Hurst Edwards, 48, of 219 Seventh Ave. S.E., was charged Thursday with violation of a city ordinance.

• Faye Diane Davis, 34, of 114 Seventh St. S.W., was charged Thursday with disorderly conduct (third offense) and harassing phone calls.

• Dexter Lamar Herring, 34, of 609 First St. N.W., was charged Thursday with aggravated stalking, theft by taking and aggravated battery.

• Pierre Shannon Cardin, 64, of 605 Jefferson St., was charged Thursday with disorderly conduct (family violence).

• Shauna Cheree Long, 24, of 247 Wilder Road, was charged Thursday with battery (family violence) and cruelty to children.

• James Rie Brackin, 17, of 3153 Cannon Road, was charged Thursday with DUI and running a stop sign.

• Robert Glenn Garrison, 20, of 121 Brandi Drive, was charged Thursday with an open container violation and illegal possession of alcohol.

Other Incidents

• An anonymous person reported seeing four black males with guns shooting mailboxes on Fifth Avenue Southeast Thursday. Officers located them and found they were each carrying an air soft pistol, all of which were collected as evidence. The four males, ranging in ages from 14 to 18, were not charged.

• A Moultrie woman reported Thursday a male relative rubbed his penis across his 4-year-old daughter’s chest and armpit between November and December. The woman discovered the incident after the girl started asking sexually-oriented questions. A Colquitt County sheriff’s investigator and an employee from the Department of Family and Children’s Services spoke with the woman and girl about the incident.
