MOULTRIE -- Park Regency will celebrate its second anniversary this month.

"We could do something normal, like a party with a cake," said Alex Suarez, activities director for the assisted living facility. "But we wanted to do something different."

The staff has planned an auction and bazaar for Saturday, May 10.

Activites, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., will include arts and crafts, face painting and music. Door prizes will be given.

"We're trying to get a dunking booth," said Suarez.

At noon a prayer service will be held.

"We'll have prayer for our facility, our nation, and the kids we're helping," he said.

An auction featuring a variety of donated items will begin at 1 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Vereen School and the American Red Cross, who will use the money to assist troops in Iraq.

"We want to give back and help the community," said Suarez.

For more information, or to donate items for the auction, contact Suarez or Donna Joiner at 890-3342.
