The Colquitt County Coon Hunter’s Association held its third annual coon hunt to benefit Colquitt Regional Hospice and raised more than $4,500.
The one-night hunt was held in conjunction with a cake auction, dog show and live auction hosted by the association members, their wives and hospice volunteers. More than 60 vendors donated items to be auctioned and used as prizes for hunters and dogs with the highest scores.
David Williams of Sycamore won the registered dog hunt, and Matt Barn of Camilla was named the night champion.
To show appreciation to the association, Colquitt Regional Hospice presented Ronald Davis, event coordinator, with a plaque to be displayed at the association’s club house.
