MOULTRIE -- A Moultrie man reported being hit with a bat, cut with a knife and threatened to be shot Wednesday morning.

Scotty Williams told Moultrie police about the incident between him and a male acquaintance, while he was at the corner of Second Street and First Avenue Southwest between 7 a.m. and 7:31 a.m. Wednesday.

Reports said the male acquaintance threatened Williams with a bat and then struck him in the back with it. A fight broke out between the two, but someone else who was in the streets at the time broke it up.

At some point during the fight, reports said the acquaintance threw a kitchen knife at Williams. The responding officer saw a small cut on Williams's right hand.

Williams stated the acquaintance had also threatened to shoot him, reports said. Officers were unable to locate the acquaintance or speak to the person who broke up the fight at the time of their report.


- David Davis, 35, of 517 Fourth Court N.W., was charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct (family violence).

- Gilberto Gonzales, 23, of 1776 Highway 133 South, was charged Wednesday with speeding and driving without a license.

- Corey Ronzell Daniels, 27, of 112 29th Ave. N.W., was charged Wednesday with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of tools for committing a crime.

Other incidents

- Mark Farmer reported an unknown person broke out the passenger window of a Chevrolet Astro van and stole a 13-inch Curtis Mathis television Wednesday. Damage to the vehicle was about $300, but Farmer told police the stolen television was "no good."
