MOULTRIE — Curves of Moultrie will participate in the Curves Food Drive to benefit local food banks.

Last year, the Curves Food Drive collected 10.6 million pounds of food for communities all over the world. That’s almost 3 million pounds more than the year before.

To celebrate the generosity of the community, Curves will waive its normal service fee for any new member who brings in a bag of non-perishable groceries and joins between Feb. 27 and March 11. Last year more than 251,000 new members joined Curves during the food drive.

Anyone else who’d like to donate non-perishable food items can drop them by Curves, 125 Talmadge Drive, Monday through Saturday during business hours through the month of March.

“The Curves Food Drive promotion is always exciting,” said Angel Carter, owner of the Moultrie Club. “We have a chance to help so many people at a time when the food banks are lowest, while we assist more women in reaching their fitness and weight loss goals. It’s a win-win situation for everyone, and we’re very proud to participate.”
