MOULTRIE -- The Colquitt County Democratic Party Committee recently elected Moultrie native Mike Boyd as the party's new chairman.
Boyd, 44, succeeds long-time Chairman Ralph Clark.
Also elected at the committee were Moultrians Irma Griffin as vice chairman, Glendora Ryce as secretary and Bill Yearta as treasurer. Ryce and Yearta were re-elected.
Boyd is the former commander of the Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit and is a 1977 graduate of the former Moultrie Senior High School.
The party meets the last Thursday of every month. Its next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 24 at the Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce.
