A Moultrie man was treated for injuries after his car crashed into a semi truck whose driver stopped Monday night on Highway 37 to turn around.
Flanzy Harris, 62, of Grady, Ala., the driver of a 2013 Freightliner, told the Georgia State Patrol that he was trying to back into a driveway near the intersection of Pineboro Road and Highway 37 East.
Joseph Davis, 60, of Moultrie was driving east in a 2001 Toyota Corolla when he encountered the truck, whose trailer was extended into the east-bound lane, agency reports said. He said that due to the truck’s head lights he was unable to see that the trailer was in his path.
The Toyota struck underneath the rear axle of the truck, went down an embankment and came to rest facing north.
Harris told the trooper that he had his emergency flashers engaged at the time of the crash.
Davis was treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
