MOULTRIE, Ga. — On Friday, February 14, 2020, about 5:45 am, the GBI was requested by the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the death of a female inmate named Catrina Noel Disciplina, 43 years old. Disciplina was booked into the Colquitt County on February 12th for DUI and other charges, the GBI said in a press release.
Earlier this morning when the inmates were being fed by jail staff, Disciplina was found to be unresponsive by other inmates who alerted Jail staff, the GBI said. Life saving procedures were attempted by Jail staff, but Disciplina did not respond to the medical attempts. She was later pronounced dead by the Colquitt County Coroner.
An autopsy will be performed at the GBI Crime Lab at 7 am Monday, February 17, 2020. No obvious signs of injury were noted during the initial examination of the scene and body, the GBI said. This case is active and ongoing.
