MOULTRIE — Three suspects in a Nov. 25 armed robbery of a Moultrie restaurant were indicted this week on assault, robbery and firearms charges.

Anthony Dewayne Downs, 21, 525 Don Cutler Sr. Drive, Albany; Armonti Kelaad Thompson, 18, 1026 Second Ave., N.W., Moultrie; and Tony Bernard Wilson, 19, 607 Fifth Ave. S.E., Moultrie, were each indicted on 17 counts. The charges in the indictment are: four counts of aggravated assault, eight counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, four counts attempt to commit a felony and a single count of criminal use of an article with an altered identification number.

According to the Moultrie Police Department, three men entered China Cafe on First Avenue at 9:22 p.m. through a back entrance. One of the men pulled a handgun and demanded money from employees — one of whom reportedly was forced to the ground and kicked in the face.

Officers arrested Downs, Thompson and Wilson nearby. Police also recovered a handgun with an altered serial number and a cell telephone in the area where the three men were found.

• Andre Duvar Richardson, 44, 202 Sixth St. S.W., aggravated assault.

• Andre Duvar Richardson, 44, 202 Sixth St. S.W., possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

• Calvin Van Slaughter, 48, 916 Fourth Ave. S.W., burglary, possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Anthony Moses Jordan, 32, 3206 Quail Lake Village, Norcross, burglary, two counts armed robbery, two counts aggravated assault.

• Kimberly Lynn Sparkman, 24, 1819 Tallokas St., aggravated stalking.

• Lavon Maurice Jones, 23, 209 Jasmine Road Lot 12, Omega, attempting to commit a felony, two counts possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, kidnapping, armed robbery, theft by taking, aggravated assault.

• Vincent Lamier King, 22, 521 Sardis Church Road, statutory rape.

• Anthony Bernard Gamble, criminal damage to property, battery.

The following criminal accusations were returned during the session of the grand jury:

• Amanda Lynn Childers, 26, 1965 Sledge Road, Omega, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, theft by taking, criminal trespass.

• Kenneth Antonio Burks, 25, and Terry Leandre Bryant, 19, both of 1014 N. Stevens St., Thomasville, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Bryant also was indicted on charges of turn-signal violation, no proof of insurance and failure to carry a license.

• Velika Shantel Bender, 27, 412 Third Ave. N.W., and Enon Rarrard McKelvary, 29, 600 Second St. N.W., one count each of forgery.

• Amanda Brook Mullis, 259 Bryan Road, Hartsfield, four counts theft by taking.

• Valerie Alisa Bentley, also known as Lisa Bentley, 273 Nugent Road, Norman Park, five counts theft by taking.

• Felisa Shuante Marshall, 25, 121 Church St., Ellenton, theft by receiving stolen property.

• Betty Sue Griffin, 46, 5709 U.S. Hwy. 319 N., Norman Park, attempt to violate the Georgia controlled substances act, possession of marijuana.

• Alicia L. Cox, 19, 541 Country Drive, two counts financial transaction card fraud.

The grand jury did not return indictments against Colquitt County Correctional Institute inmate Jermaine Q. Thirkfield, 26, who had been charged with possession of a telecommunications device by an inmate; or Jimmy Lee Russ Jr., 33, 1729 Sandlewood Circle, Winter Haven, Fla., who had been charged with child molestation and sexual battery of a child under 16.

In one case, Anthony Andrew Allegood, 21, 3202 Old Adel Road, pleaded guilty to theft by conversion and theft by taking. He was sentenced to 12 months’ Colquitt County Jail, 12 months’ probation, a $1,000 fine and to pay restitution.
