MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Moultrie-Colquitt County Library will host “History in Historical Fiction: Too Much, Too Little, or Just Right” with author Rebecca Hagan Lee on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 11:30 a.m. in the library’s auditorium.
Lee is the award-winning and nationally best-selling author of 17 full length historical romance novels and three novellas, published by the Berkley Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House, Bell Bridge Books, and Amber House Books.
She’s the recipient of the Waldenbooks Award, a Georgia Romance Writer’s Maggie award for Best Historical, several Romantic Times awards, and was a finalist for a Romance Writers of America Rita award for Best Historical Romance. Hollywood production companies have used her books for set decoration and expressed interest in producing one for film.
Her books are published in 11 languages—English (American, Canadian, British, Australian, South African), French, Swedish, Norwegian, Polish, Dutch, Russian, Czech, Romanian, Chinese, and Japanese and are also available at Audible.com and Recorded Books.
Lee was born in Thomasville and grew up in Thomas County. She graduated from Central High School and continued her education at Valdosta State where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater arts-radio, TV, film. She published her first book in 1993.
In addition to her writing, Lee was instrumental in the founding of Romance Writers of America chapters in Vidalia, Macon, Savannah, and Charleston, S.C. She served on the Romance Writers of America Board of Directors, two years as workshop and education chair where she selected and coordinated workshops for the national conferences and edited a compilation book of articles on writing and publishing for RWA members by RWA members. She has written extensively about writing and taught writing workshops nationwide and online.
She lives with her husband and pets in Thomas County.
