A Moultrie man reported he was stabbed in the back while out walking Wednesday night.

A Moultrie police officer was called to Colquitt Regional Medical Center at 9:49 p.m. Wednesday about the incident. The officer spoke with Emy Gilbert, who stated he was walking near Moates Grocery, at the Third Avenue Northwest and Fourth Street Northwest intersection, about 8:30 p.m.

As he was walking, Gilbert stated a black female came up behind and stabbed him in the back. He told the officer he did not know the woman’s name but could point her out if he saw her again.

The officer attempted to get more details about the incident, but Gilbert would not give any other details and became uncooperative. He did not say whether he wanted to press charges on the woman or not.

A hospital spokesperson said Gilbert was treated for his injuries and released Wednesday.
