MOULTRIE -- U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop is accompanying the Medicare bus on a circuit of the Second Congressional District next week, and its second stop will be Moultrie.

The bus will be here 2-5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Moultrie Technical College, 361 Industrial Drive. A program will be presented that will provide an overview of the new Medicare Prescription Drug Plans as well as an opportunity for beneficiaries to get individual assistance in selecting their plans, according to a press release from Bishop's office.

Seniors should bring their Medicare cards and a list of their prescriptions or their pillboxes to the forum. They should also be prepared to consider their drug costs as well as preferred pharmacies and providers.

"Our previous town hall meeting revealed an overwhelming demand for practical advice in selecting a prescription drug plan," said Bishop, D-Albany. "With the state of the art Medicare bus and eight locations throughout the district, these information sessions should provide the level of counseling that seniors and Medicare beneficiaries are looking for."

The bus trip begins 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Albany Technical College and journeys from there to Moultrie Tech's Industrial Drive campus. On Wednesday morning it will be at Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville, and on Wednesday afternoon at Valdosta State University. On Thursday it will visit Bainbridge and Cairo, and on Friday it will be in Columbus and Americus.

More information is available at http://bishop.house.gov or by calling Bishop's office at (229) 439-8067 (Albany) or (229) 247-9705 (Valdosta) during normal business hours.
