MOULTRIE -- Mary Gibson, 702 Northside Drive N.W., reported on Thursday morning that between 8 a.m. on Feb. 2 and 7 a.m. on Thursday someone stole checks from accounts on American Banking Company and Southwest Georgia Bank, a red and yellow Murray bicycle, a Sony PlayStation 2, a Nintendo Game Cube, a Nintendo 64 and an Xbox video game. The total value of stolen items is $840.

Quick Mart No. 30, 1406 West Bypass, reported four incidents of forged checks to officers of Wednesday. All checks were on Gibson's account at American Banking Company.

Gibson said that she suspects a male acquaintance stole the items.

Latoya Lewis, Haven Hill Estates, reported to deputies on Wednesday that someone kicked in the front door to her home but nothing was missing.

Bill Gufford, 3212 Sylvester Drive Lot 133, reported on Tuesday that someone kicked in his front door and stole a white Frigidaire refrigerator, valued at $700.

Silas Dunn, 295 Edwards St., reported to deputies that someone entered his home between 12:30 p.m. on March 19 and 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, stealing five rings (total value $1,000), seven $2 bills, and one blue certificate $1 bill from a safe.

Latoya Lewis, 48 Kingwood Gardens S.E., reported to police on Wednesday that someone entered her 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe, stealing a Hi-Point .380-caliber automatic pistol and 30 compact discs. The total value of stolen items is $703.95

Moultrie police officers responded to a 911 call in reference to a burglary at 1009 Fifth Ave. on Wednesday morning. A window on the front of the building was broken, and witnesses stated that a man left the scene with a case of Bud Light and something, possibly lottery tickets, draped around his neck.

A employee of West Central Package Store reported to officers on Wednesday that a man stole a 750-ml bottle of Crown Royal, valued at $27.80.


Sharon Denise Tyler, 29, of Thomasville was charged with violation of probation on Wednesday.

Alton Shane Oliff, 36, 325 Langford St., Berlin, was charged with false imprisonment, use of obscene and vulgar language and simple battery on Wednesday.

Henry Aguilar, 31, 160 East Gate Drive, was charged on Wednesday with following too closely and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

Danny Lee King, 42, Sylvester Drive, was charged with battery on Wednesday.

Terry Stamper, 20, 805 College Drive, Doerun, was charged on Wednesday with giving false information to a police officer and minor in possession of alcohol.

Henry Lee Godfrey, 22, 812 Apt. 4 Northside Drive, was charged on Wednesday with battery stemming from an incident on Feb. 12.

Anthony Jerome Martin, 18, 904 Highland Blvd. S.W., was charged on Wednesday with battery stemming from an incident on Nov. 7.

Dena Lynn Baker, 26, 837 McElroy Road, was charged with forgery on Wednesday.

John R. Morrell, 29, 2809 Fifth St. Apt. T-2, was charged with issuing bad checks on Wednesday.

Cicely Sidney Wheeler, 23, 1200 Sixth St. S.W., was charged with violating probation and aggravated assault on Wednesday.

Vickie Lynn Maxwell, 52, 301 Edwards St., was charged on Wednesday with three counts of forgery.

Melissa Dawn Newberry, 29, 132 Ashley Road, was charged on Wednesday with three counts of forgery.

Jose Cedillo Castanon, 32, 1600 Overlook Drive Lot 4, was charged with driving with an expired tag on Wednesday.
